If you like keeping up with fashion trends, and are always “in the know” about the hottest and the greatest, then this post is probably going to serve as nothing more than a little refresher. But, we decided to put together a mini “guide” on spring 2012 accessories.
As you clear out your fall/winter merchandise and welcome spring (warm weather is on the horizon somewhere!), we hope this blog post helps you out. We are a company that enjoys delivering current products to your door right when you need them – not six months before or after – which is why we decided that now would be a good time to venture into trends.
A few weeks ago, Pantone announced the official 2012 color: Tangerine Tango. Major designers/fashion brands have already been playing with orange in fall/winter 2011, so this hue just becomes more prominent in the new year. Prepare to see lots of orange as the main focus or as a fantastic burst of color.
In addition to the “color of the year,” we’ll be seeing lots of minty pastels (not too unique, if you ask us…) and neon colors. Neons were popular even in 2011 (especially beginning in the summertime), but will be even moreso this season. Of course, men’s and women’s fashion tastes differ, even when it comes to color, so we suggest browsing this (women) and this (men).

Depending on your retail store’s needs, you’re either going to love and embrace fashion trends, or maybe dip a few toes into that water. Whatever your case may be, these are the major ones we’ve come up with:
- Unique sunglasses (oversized or cat-eye), BIGGGGG and in-your-face earrings, florals
- Florals, transparent/clear, ladylike, white, “tribal”-inspired
- Lots of focus on wrists (hurray bracelets!), embellishments, crocodile skin, “tribal”-inspired
Other trends to consider, but not covered above, are: athletic/sporty looks (perhaps because of London Summer Olympics), futuristic looks (very edgy, angular, and metallic), and hats
Let us know if you agree or spotted some other cool trend that upstages all of the ones mentioned. We’d like to know what your shoppers are coveting!
